Editor’s Note

A high-volume Friday morning ran hot with domestic and mental-health crises spread across the Buffalo suburbs. The window was bookended by a violent Main Street domestic — a man reported dragging a small child down the street toward the Allen station — and a memory-care elopement near Cuyahoga Creek that put four Cheektowaga units on foot. Between them came a suicidal woman fleeing a Hamburg apartment after texting photos of bridges, a West Seneca welfare check that turned into a two-Narcan overdose save, and a manic middle-schooler bailing out a window in Cheektowaga. Underneath it all ran the ordinary churn of the wires: elderly falls and cardiac runs from Buffalo to the outer counties, CO detectors and mulch fires, and the small dispatch oddities that give the scanner its texture.
